MPC receives 4 nominations for the VES Awards |
|
MPC is excited to announce it has received four nominations at the 8th annual VES Awards. These include; two for Kerry LowLow up for Best VFX and Best Compositing in a Commercial. Evian ‘Skating Babies’ is in the frame for best animated character and the planestupid ‘Polar Bears’ are in for Best VFX in a Commercial.

MPC launches Data Calculator app |

MPC’s Data Lab has developed a new iPhone app to help producers and camera operators calculate the data requirements necessary for all stages of the shooting and post pipeline. The Data Calculator will work out the disk space needed for given running times of most digital cameras available and how much this will take on disk once transcoded. The application was developed by MPC's R&D team led by Damien Fagnou.

MPC’s London studio has provided key sequences for Stephen Sommers’ forthcoming ‘GI Joe. Rise of the Cobra.’ Based on the well known Hasbro toy, the movie is produced by Paramount Pictures. The MPC team, led by VFX Supervisor Greg Butler worked closely with overall Supervisor Boyd Shermis and VFX supervisor Greg McMurry, to complete 176 shots for the movie
